Julia joined Ad Astra in May 2018 as Education Officer. She has been a teacher for 18 years, working with students across the age and ability range. During this time, she has developed a broad range of skills and experience which help ensure that the students she teaches receive the best possible care and preparation for the next steps in their personal and academic life. Her consistently high level of teaching and skill has been recognised through internal and external review, including reference in published Ofsted inspections. She is currently working on an oracy project, which seeks to build the verbal skills and confidence which are vital to success both inside and beyond the classroom.

 

Julia has a proven track record of success and impact throughout her career. She has held a wide variety of roles, including Head of English in two schools, Assistant Headteacher: Achievement, Lead Director of English for a large multi academy trust and most recently as Lead Practitioner for teaching and learning at Abbey Multi Academy Trust in Leeds.

 

Julia is very excited to be working with the team to develop a unique curriculum offer which is built on the needs of the students and Ad Astra’s fantastic partnerships, facilities and resources.
